Working Directly With Graphic Designers

You have design files that you need to turn into HTML and the prospect of it is giving you a headache? Let us take care of your web development needs. We can provide you with individual HTML/CSS/PHP/JS files or a complete WordPress theme. If needed, we can also help you set up a hosting account, install WordPress and input content for you or your client.

Send us your Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop files and we'll take care of the rest for you. Should you need us to meet your clients, we'll adhere to whatever rules you set for our custom HTML or WordPress theme development services (white-labelling, marking-up our work, etc.)

Helping Website Owners As Well

Tired of having to go through someone to update your existing website? Let us re-code and transfer your existing site into a Content Management System (CMS) that you'll be able to manage and update yourself. This means you'll no longer have to wait for someone else to become available to edit a typo, change or add images, upload videos, etc. You'll easily be able to do all that without any technical knowledge.

We'll take a peak at your current website files, so we can properly estimate the amount of work required to transfer it onto our preferred platform: WordPress.org.

Who this service is for:

This service is right for you if you fall into one of these categories:

  • You already have a website that you're happy with (design-wise) but you would like to start updating it yourself without touching code or requiring any technical knowledge.
  • You are a designer who needs someone to code your layouts in HTML/PHP/CSS or as a full WordPress theme.
  • You have a WordPress.com website (either under your own domain name or as a sub-domain of wordpress.com) and would like to switch to WordPress.org without making any significant changes to the appearance of your website or blog.
  • You have a website built on a different Content Management System like Joomla, SiteBuildIt!, Drupal or other CMS and would like to switch to WordPress.org without making any significant changes to the appearance of your site.

This service is NOT for:

  • Clients who are NOT happy with the existing design of their website and would like to change the site's logo, colours, layout, functionality or add interactive features or responsive design to look better on mobile devices. If this is you, we recommend our custom website services.
  • Clients who already have a WordPress website (self-hosted, NOT on wordpress.com) and would like to improve its appearance a little. If this is you, our hourly website maintenance services would likely be less expensive. Chances are that a few hours of CSS tweaks will cover it all.

If you're unsure whether we can help you, please book a free consultation and we'll recommend a course of action for you.

Our HTML and WordPress theme development services vary depending on who we work for.

How we work with designers:

If you have design files and would like us to code them for you in HTML/PHP/CSS and/or create a WordPress website out of them, we’ll likely proceed as follows:

  • We meet with you (in-person, over the phone or Skype) to discuss your needs.
  • We agree on a file format, number of templates or pages to code, browser support (we can go all the way back to Internet Explorer 6 if needed), timeline, budget, etc.
  • If dealing with a client of yours, we agree on how to proceed (communication, acting on behalf of your company or as a contractor, mark-up rate, etc.)
  • If you need our help with hosting, file uploads or installing WordPress and database, we will take care of it for you.

What the HTML website to WordPress transfer involves:

If you already have a website and would like to move it to WordPress, we’ll assess your needs and help you with any of the following:

  • Converting your HTML code into various PHP/CSS files to create a WordPress theme that matches your existing website look and feel.
  • Assessing your hosting plan* and installing WordPress and associated MySQL database.
  • Transferring your existing content (text, images, etc.) into WordPress.
  • If needed, training you on how to update your site.

*If your hosting account isn’t powerful enough we’ll help you upgrade.

Costs:

Depending on how many pages and layouts you have, how much content inputting we'll be doing (or if you'd like to take care of it) and any changes needed to the layout (for example, we may need to make room for more pages in the nav bar), you can expect to spend anywhere between $500 to $2,000* to go from HTML to a working WordPress website.

Browser support back to Internet Explorer (IE) 8 is included.

The cost posted here (starting at $1,000, on sale at $500) is used to cover the down-payment for our HTML and WordPress development services.

*This maximum amount does not include transferring content for more than 25 pages. A better estimate will be provided to you after seeing your site and learning more about your exact needs.

Timeline:

Our timeline will vary depending on what you'll be providing us with, how many pages of content we'll have to input, whether you need a responsive website and older browser support, but here is a rough estimate:

  • Design to HTML: 1 to 3 weeks
  • Design to WordPress: 2 to 4 weeks
  • HTML (existing website) to WordPress: 1 to 4 weeks

Booking and Payment Process:

  1. You book the initial consultation (for free — you don't owe us a penny until you accept our formal quote — see step 4).
  2. We meet to discuss your existing site and desired changes.
  3. You send us your HTML files, hosting info and/or design files (if applicable) so we can determine the amount of work to be completed.
